Abstract :Selecting the best musician or singer always is so hard and doesn’t have a specific method for evaluation. The purpose of this paper is to propose a multi–criteria decision making (MCDM) approach for selecting the best multi-role artist of rock bands. Multi-role is referred to a singer in a band who besides singing does some other key roles such as playing, composing, etc. One of the limitations of this study is primary selection of multi-role artists and this problem was solved by using the Delphi method. This study use some factors for evaluating that are selected among expert comment and literatures. Two MCDM methods are then used in the selection process. Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) is applied to determine the relative weights of evaluation criteria and the extension of the Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) is applied for ranking multi-role artists. This study can be used as a pattern for selecting other groups of music artists. |

MDGS AND GENDER EQUITY IN HIGHER EDUCATION IN SOUTH AFRICA |

Abstract | Full Text |
Abstract :Universities have become complex organisations, and in the context of a developing nation such as South Africa, universities are transmuting into agents and engines of development. Despite universities’ of technology (UoTs) potential in poverty reduction as well as employment creation, especially for women, their contribution towards the latter has been limited. This paper argues for UoTs to shift focus towards education-specific millennium development goals – MDG 2 and MDG 3. By concentrating efforts on these MDGs, universities in developing countries not only would be able to address the problem of gender equity, but will become partners of socio-economic developments within their communities. The study involved in-depth interviews with senior personnel from two South African UoTs, students, and education officials. Findings suggest that UoTs have great potential in stimulating the South African education sector as well as gender equity. A conceptual model was subsequently developed. |

Abstract :The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is a widely adopted performance management model first introduced in the early 1990s. More recently, it has been proposed as the basic for a strategic management model. The authors believe that by proposing a proper framework for structuring the process of establishing BSC and strategy mapping, it would be possible to follow the procedure in a more stepwise procedure. In this paper, we propose a Decision Making Trial and Error Laboratory (DEMATEL) framework, as a powerful group decision making model to build the structural relationships among the strategic objectives for a BSC that establish for universities in Iran. The analysis results indicate that internal process is the significant perspective of BSC for universities. Cost control in financial perspective, product quality in customer perspective, Currency of faculty and classroom material/ experiences in internal process perspective and Information Infrastructure in learning and growth perspective are the most essential factors in perspectives of BSC. |
